Now that spring has arrived, we are all looking forward to nice long evenings outside. For an evening out, nothing looks more stunning than some beautiful smokey eyes.

The classical version of smokey eyes with black can be quite heavy. Especially in the summer it is nice to experiment with some lighter colors.

This week I gave my smokey eyes a softer effect by using a palette of blue colors.

I used the following eye shadows:

  • oyster from Jane Irdale for under the eyebrows
  • onyx from MUD for the basis of the eyelid
  • smoked sapphire for the middle part of the eyelid
  • midnight comes on top of that
  • caribbean from Jane Irdale for the inner side of the eyes

It is very important to blend the eye shadows with an eye shader at the end. This makes sure that the colors mix gently and to avoid an artificial look.

To make sure the eye shadow powder doesn’t  fall under your eyes and ruins your make-up, my tip is to only applicate your foundation and highlighter under your eyes once you have finished your eye make-up and not before.

To have a more intense look you can add a black line on the water line of your eye and on the upper lash line.
